How will UT actively demonstrate commitment to LGBT students, staff, and faculty, as the loss of the support for the Pride Center has been negative and impactful?
Are there plans to create permanent and increased funding streams for LGBT people and related concerns, including trainings, Pride Center staff, etc.? In comparison to other Top 25 public institutions, we appear to be way behind.
1) We knew about the bill defunding ODI well in advance. Why did it seem like there was no plan in place for what would happen to the Pride Center in the event that budget passed?
2) The Pride Center started out under the commission. Why was it not returned there when ODI dissolved?
3) Moving forward, what plans are there for a more permanent budget and staffing for the Pride Center, something that most of our aspirational institutions in the Top 25 have?
What's the future of the Pride Center? This year and beyond?
Are you aware of issues the campus faces in terms of accessibility? What are your plans to improve accessibility?
